For Sale By Owner is a light, romantic novel set in the magical season of Christmas. Dealing with everything from familial tensions and redemption, to lost loves and new beginnings, Ms. Bateman weaves a story set through decades that finds its way full circle, incorporating religious principles with every day struggles.
Although the romance idea may be cliche, and the ending somewhat predictable, there are so many colorful characters and story lines that heighten the readers attachment to the story. The setting was so descriptive, I longed to go down to the pond and skate. I enjoyed For Sale By Owner immensely, and the cookies the characters shared in the book are included at the end for an added bonus, that I intend to indulge in. This is the perfect Christmas time-warm slippers- sipping tea-kinda-book.
